Join in with our No Smoking Campaign Day Events!

We're launching our "Save your lungs, Save your Funds" campaign! It's to encourage students to think about the amount they smoke, and help you to seek ways to cut down! Also to find out how much money you could be saving by quitting and the benefits of this on your lungs!

What is the main focus for the day?
The day will focus around "tobacco and lung health", which is looking to increase awareness on the negative impacts that tobacco has on peoples lungs, and the fundamental role lungs play for the health and wellbeing of people.

Why are we doing this?
As part of the Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Award, we have to run a campaign that allows students the opportunity to think about how much they smoke and what effects this has on you if you do. The aim of this campaign is also to educate students on how much money can be saved by quitting!

How you can get involved?
We are working in partnership with Crew 2000, to host health and no smoking stalls on campuses. Crew is an organsation who exist to reduce harm, challenge perceptions and help people make positive choices. On the days below at the stalls you can sign up to complete a healthy pledge with Crew, e.g. pledge for a day, week or month to for example take a walk around campus, go for a swim or ride a bike.

The days for the stalls are below:

Monday 11th March, Granton Campus - Hub
Tuesday 12th March, Milton Road Campus - Reception Area
Wednesday 13th March , Sighthill Campus - The Street
Friday 15th March, Midlothian Campus - Rception

All the stalls will be taking place between 10am and 2pm.

Extra Campaign Information
On the lead up to the day, you'll find promotion around the campuses of a students poster she designed for us, that links into the campaign and no smoking day main focus. So keep your eyes peeled for this appearing on campuses soon!
