As the colder months settle in, we’re thrilled to announce that, thanks to your incredible generosity, we now have over 70 coats available for students who need them, as well as a few Hats, Gloves and scarves too.

If you are in need of a winter coat, you can pick one up at our days on Granton and Sighthill Campuses on the 27th November and 2nd December.

It's been a busy few weeks at the Students' Association, as our Class Rep system gets up and running. Class Reps are a key part of the college community: they're a link between students, the Students' Association, curriculum staff and college management. 

Here's a quick summary of the main findings below:

• Inductions are generally seen as quite good, with almost every student having a timetable before starting, but students especially cited the lack of campus tours and maps available. 
• Many Reps reported that students struggle to access vital information due to systems not being as easy to use on mobile phones (particularly Moodle). 
• Students are broadly positive about their learning experience so far. Those with negative experiences cite staff absences and the lack of communication being key contributing factors.

Here at Edinburgh College Students' Association, we want to help support students to have the best mental health and wellbeing they can, and show how many organisations in and around Edinburgh are aiming to do this too.

On Tuesday 3rd December from 10am to 2pm at Granton Campus, we'll be inviting those some of those organising in so you have the chance to find out about how you can get the help you need.

As the dark evenings are drawing in and the temperature starts to plummet, we're planning on keeping everyone's spirits up with our festive Winter Warmer event!

Join us in the Sighthill Atrium from 11.30am on Monday 9th December for festive fun and good company. It's the perfect opportunity to unwind, chat with classmates and colleagues, and spread some holiday cheer. We'll be bringing along a wide selection of board games, activities and video games, from cornhole to the Nintendo Switch. Prizes will be available for the best players!

Come along and join in with fellow video games fans at our Milton Road Video Games Day. You'll meet lots of people with shared interests and have a fun filled afternoon!

From games on the Nintendo Switch to the Xbox - there will be something for everyone. And bring along any of your own portable video games supplies as well.
