Hope you had a great week back!

Hello to all, we have had a very busy month with events and conferences that our team has gone to and represented you all and our institution. Like yesterday, when we had a fantastic Earth Day event with students taking part in terrarium building and a Wishing Well.

We also went to the National Union of Students' annual conference, this year held in Dunfermline’s Fife College, we’ve done more with getting the ball rolling on some external campaigns and liaising with other Students’ Associations and finding out our best strategies and tactics as a collective student movement. We were also looking at this opportunity to become a lead for college students' associations nationally and regionally.

To put it another way we have been incredibly busy and hard at work to create a better learning and environment for the whole college.

Big Student Thank You 2025

This week, we're launching the Big Student Thank You 2025! Every year, these awards give students the chance to say thank you to Edinburgh College staff who have positively impacted their year. You can nominate your lecturers or any member of support staff, and there are five categories:

  • Best Lecturer Construction & Engineering
  • Best Lecturer Creative Industries
  • Best Lecturer Health, Wellbeing and Social Science
  • Outstanding Lecturer of the Year Award
  • Helping Hand Award for Support Staff

So, if someone at Edinburgh College has had a positive impact on your year, we want to hear about it! Nominations will all be read carefully, and the winners will be announced on the week beginning Monday 2nd June.

Say thank you here!

Gold at the Scottish Student Sport Cup!
