New semester, new start!

Hello and welcome back to the first newsletter of 2026! 

With the start of semester two just around the corner, it's going to be a busy few months - and we're here for it!

The start of the elections process kicks off this week, giving you the chance to lead your Students' Association and make the college a better place for all.

On Monday, we'll be running our Brew Monday event at Granton Campus, aimed at beating the winter blues. Find out more below and we hope to see you there.

Brew Monday

Date: Monday the 19th of Januray
Time: 10:00am - 12:00noon
Location: Granton Coffee Pod Located in the Hub
About: Free tea, coffee, and cakes, in exchange for a chit chat

Brew Monday is a relaxed, friendly drop-in event designed to help students and staff connect, chat, and take a moment for themselves during what can be a difficult time of year. January can bring the blues, and Brew Monday is all about reminding people that they’re not alone.

Could you be our next President or Vice President?

Election season is coming up and we are looking for students who could lead the Students' Association in 2026–27. Could you be part of our Full-Time Officer team?

  • President
    Focuses on education, learning and teaching, and represents students at the highest level of the college.
  • Vice President Activities
    Focuses on designing and promoting events and activities to enrich student life.
  • Vice President Welfare
    Works with the college to ensure good student mental health, and leads on wellbeing events.

These are all full-time roles and if you are elected, you will be paid a salary of £26,622 for 35 hours per week, starting on Monday 3rd July.
