It's time to run your Students' Association!

We hope you're having a great start to semester two, and a warm welcome to all our new January-starts.

This month we're reaching out to all those keen folk out there who could lead your Students' Association through the next academic year. You'll be voting soon on three full-time paid student officers who'll represent you. Find out more below!

Your VP Activities, Mary, has been working hard on pulling together an amazing programme of activities for SHAG Week, so we hope you to see lots of you on campus soon.

Could you be our next President or Vice-President?

We are looking for students who could lead the Students' Association in 2026–27. Are you passionate about making a difference to students' lives? Here's a reminder of the roles that are up for grabs.

  • President – focuses on education, learning and teaching, and represents students at the highest level of the college.
  • Vice-President Activities – designs and promotes and delivers events and activities to enrich student life.
  • Vice-President Welfare – works with the college to ensure good student mental health, and leads on wellbeing events.

These are all full-time roles and if you are elected, you will be paid a salary of £26,622 for 35 hours per week, starting on Wednesday 1st July.

Join us for S.H.A.G Week

We're proud to be hosting Edinburgh College's first ever Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance (SHAG) Week—a week dedicated to open conversations around sexual health and wellness.

VP Activities, Mary O'Driscoll said: "When I was elected, making sexual health more accessible was one of my key priorities and I'm so happy to be working with our partners to bring you a week of exciting activities!"

Class Rep meetings - next week!

It's time for our second round of Class Rep meetings so we hope all the Reps out there can join us on one of the following dates.

  • Monday 2nd February at 12.30-1.30pm at Sighthill, Room 1-28
  • Tuesday 3rd February at 12.30-1.30pm at Milton Road, Room 4-17
  • Wednesday 4th February at 12.30-1.30pm at Granton, Room S-102 (between Amber corridor and the Library)
  • Wednesday 4th February at 4-5pm Online via Teams
  • Thursday 5th February at 12.30-1.30pm at Midlothian, Room 1-02

We will mainly be discussing Community & Belonging - check the Class Rep group on Teams for more details. Make sure you come along and make your voice heard!
