Nominations are now open for the EC Students' Association Elections 2026!
Elections 2026 now live

It’s officially Elections Season, and we are very excited to announce that Nominations are now OPEN

Edinburgh College Students’ Association is run by a team of elected student officers. They’re up for election each year, and that’s where you come in.

All current Edinburgh College students aged over 16 are eligible to stand in the election. If that’s you, why not consider putting yourself forward to become the next President, Vice-President Activities, or Vice-President Welfare? These three roles are vital because they keep us connected to students so that we can represent and advocate for you in the best possible way.

What's it all about?

Here’s a reminder of the different responsibilities of the Full-Time Officer roles.

  • President – focuses on education, learning and teaching, and represents students at the College’s Board of Management
  • Vice President Activities – focuses on designing and promoting events and activities to enrich student life
  • Vice President Welfare – works with the College to ensure good student mental health, and leads on wellbeing events

These are all FULL-TIME roles (you will have to pause your studies) and you will be paid a salary of £26,622 for 35 hours per week. You don’t need to have lots of experience to put yourself forward, but what you do need is passion for improving things for students at college. The roles all begin on 1st July 2026 and end on 30th June 2027.

If you are curious about it, and think you might like to get involved, you can register your interest here and we will be holding drop-in information sessions on Teams on Friday 6th February at 12-1pm and Monday 23rd February at 12-1pm. Feel free to join us to ask any questions about the Elections process. If you think it sounds like the job for you, submit your nomination here by Friday 27th February at 10am.
