Officer Blogs: Thanks for the memories!

This time of year is always a bittersweet one for us. We say goodbye to our elected officers of the past year (or two) and welcome your new ones.

Your 2023/24 student officer team of Skye, Jon, and Luna hang up their officer roles at the end of this month. Have a look through their final blog posts and find out their favourite moments of this college year.

Video & Tabletop Games Day

Our final event of the year is our Video Games and Tabletop Games day at Granton Campus next Wednesday (12th June) from 11am to 3pm.

The day is open to anyone, from experienced gamers to people who may not have played much but want to have a go in a relaxed setting, or even just come along to watch other people!

We have run these activity days twice this year, which have been incredibly popular with students, and we wanted to end the year on a high and have one last day of fun - there may even be some prizes this time! Free pizza and drinks provided on the day.

Latest update on the ongoing strikes

As many of you will be aware, the lecturers' trade union EIS have ramped up their strike action over the last couple of weeks. They also intend to take part in what's known as 'Action Short of Strike', which would mean that there is potential for students' grades would not be entered into college systems, delaying them in receiving their qualification.

If you have been impacted and want to share your experience with us, please get in touch with us on contact@ecsa.scot, so that we can reflect that in our discussions.

Please keep an eye on the college's industrial action page to keep yourself up to date

Have a look at what we've done this year!

"I’m very proud to present our Impact Report for 2023-2024 detailing all of our activity and achievements throughout this year.

I think it is important to highlight just how small our Students’ Association team is before reading this report. With a small, but mighty team of seven people consisting of three officers, three full-time staff and our Director, Al Wilson, we have been able to cover all four campuses and represent 25,000 students as well as working on committees, projects and partnerships across the college, the sector, and the country.

When you read this report with that in mind, you truly see the incredible impact we are able to have, despite our size."

Skye Marriner,
ECSA President 2023/24
