Hi there, I am Mary O’Driscoll and I am super excited to be your Vice President - Activities for this academic year!
My background primarily lies in community work and zero waste initiatives; however I have also been an English teacher in Vietnam, a Health and Wellbeing Officer, a Communications and Marketing Specialist, and more recently an Art student at Edinburgh College! I hope that my variety of experiences and enthusiasm for making the college a more welcoming and sustainable place, will enable me to deliver on the promises I made in my manifesto.
My core objectives for this year are
- Putting environmentalism at the core of the college to align with ECSA’s Strategic Themes. Educate students on how different societal issues intersect and can impact them whilst also empowering them to make achievable changes that will improve their lives while helping the planet.
- Develop activities that have a holistic wellbeing focus, encouraging students to understand the connections between physical and mental health.
- Partner with charities in order to promote resources and activities that can equip students to tackle today’s unique challenges.
In my spare time I like to dabble in all things crafty! I also like foraging, camping, cycling and trying to live sustainably! These are all skills and interests that I intend to incorporate into my role at Edinburgh College Students’ Association.
