HubCAP, a collective run by some of our Contemporary Art Practice students, have organised an exhibition in the Gatehouse on our Granton Campus. What Is This Space For? transforms the Gatehouse into a community living room – a welcoming, participatory space for making, gathering and belonging. Rather than presenting a conventional exhibition where visitors are passive viewers, this project invites you to spend time, take part and help shape the space as it unfolds.
At ECSA, we are working with the HubCAP team to deliver a community quilt-making session!
There will be a range of crafting stations set up in the Gatehouse to help you make your square and contribute to our community quilt! This will include a sewing machine, knitting supplies, embroidery supplies, and hand stitching supplies.
Please come along and create something based on your college experience and the community you have here.
The session will be 2.00pm – 4.00pm on the 25th March and is open to Edinburgh College students and staff! However, the nature of this space means that you can come along and create in this space at any point whilst it is open. The exhibition runs 25.03.26 – 31.03.26m, 11.00am–4.00pm.
