Care Experienced Week 2025
Monday the 27th to Friday 31st of October
Care Experienced Week 2025

The 27th to the 31st of October is Care Experienced Week 2025.

Care Experienced (CE) Week takes place at the end of October every year. It is a week to celebrate the Care Experienced community, and, EC Students' Association works with partners from across the College and the local community to help share information and opportunities for CE students to get involved with.

The term 'care experienced' can mean many different things, and includes those who have lived in foster care, residential care, kinship care and more - you can find out more about who might define as care experienced here

Hub for Success

The Hub For SuccessOur local partner organisation supporting care experienced students is called the Hub for Success. They work alongside people with care experience to get in, stay in and return to College and University.

Not only do they employ staff to run their activities and develop networks with institutions and Students' Associations, they also have student ambassadors - Care experienced students who have a role helping other care experienced students.

Hub for Success organise activities and events specifically for care experienced students, providing a safe and supportive environment where you can meet students from similar lived experiences.

Find out more about what they offer and how you can get involved on their website

Support for Care Experienced Students at College

If you are a care experienced student, you are not alone and you can get help and support while you're at Edinburgh College.

If you haven't yet let the college know that you're care experienced, please reach out to the team and they will be able to help provide you with extra support.

Tell us your Care Experienced story

Last year we asked Care Experienced students to tell their story anonymously and we were proud to share some really powerful stories. You can read the stories from last year here. If you would like to share your experiences of what it's like to be Care Experienced at Edinburgh College, let us know in the form below.
