As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, and is expected to begin on 18 February, ending with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which is predicted to fall on Friday, 20 March to 21 March, depending on local moon sighting.
Ramadan is a month of reflection, compassion, community, and spiritual renewal. It is a period when many Muslims fast from dawn until sunset and take time to focus on prayer, gratitude, and acts of kindness. We recognise the significance of this month and remain committed to fostering a respectful and supportive environment for everyone observing. Whether you are fasting, praying, or taking time for self reflection, we send our warmest wishes to all students observing Ramadan this year.

During this time, please note:
- All prayer rooms will be designated as either female-only or male-only.
- Due to capacity, Room S0-27 at Sighthill Campus will be used solely as a washing facility throughout Ramadan.
- Shower rooms are available on all campuses. Please speak to colleagues at reception if you need directions.
We kindly ask everyone to use these spaces with respect and consideration, please:
- Place shoes neatly outside the room.
- Leave the space tidy for the next person.
To support those who observe Ramadan, please:
- Keep noise to a minimum to avoid disturbing those praying or reflecting.
- Most importantly, please do not eat in or near the designated prayer facilities.
