Vice President Welfare
Student Officer
The main duties of the Vice President Welfare include:
- Working with students to improve student wellbeing
- Working to address students' issues particularly around mental health support and working towards solutions
- Leading on creating a wellbeing and equality culture within the college
- Working with the other Full-Time Officers across all four campuses on issues specific to student wellfare
- Helping to develop a more welcoming and inclusive campus
- Developing partnerships with relevant sector organisations
- Supporting and developing students to empower them to be engaged with EC Students' Association
- Representing the Association and students when attending external events
- Being an active member of the EC Students' Association Board of Trustees, to ensure the Association is student-led and focussed on our strategic objectives
Priority Objectives 2025-26
- Volunteering and paid roles for students
Tackling poverty through creating opportunities fair for students to link with local organisations to provide paid jobs and volunteering opportunities to help improve employability for students
- Wellbeing events for Mental Health
Create a series of wellbeing events and activities to help support students to develop knowledge and tools to improve and maintain positive mental health - for themselves and their peers.
- Volunteers supporting fellow students tackle loneliness
Providing opportunities for Students to Make Friends and Reduce Loneliness in order to improve their mental health by creating opportunities for students to Support other students through creating and delivering activities on campus.
