Background
We are delighted to announce that we are now recruiting for a brand-new temporary full-time post to help us enhance our student representation at Edinburgh College. The new post will be working directly with the Representation & Impact Coordinator and the President, focussing on the administration and improvement of our Class Rep and Lead Rep programmes. This exciting new post will also help maximise the effectiveness of student involvement in the upcoming Tertiary Quality Enhancement Review, which the College will be going through in 2026.
Tertiary Quality Enhancement Review
Edinburgh College will be going through our first ever Tertiary Quality Enhancement Review (TQER) in 2026 – one of the first Colleges to go through this new system of review. This review will happen once every six years, so this is a really big opportunity to engage student feedback and ensure we continue to enhance the student experience over the coming years.
TQER – an explanation from sparqs
“TQER is the external review method for colleges and universities in Scotland and is one of the delivery mechanisms of the Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF). TQER is designed to provide assurance on quality standards and the quality of the student experience in Scotland’s colleges and universities. It helps the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) to answer the central question of the TQEF: ‘Is the provision delivered by Scotland’s colleges and universities of high quality and is it improving?’. All institutions in Scotland will undergo a TQER between 2025 and 2030.”
