Sports Events Coming Up!

We have a a few sporting activities taking place over the next week at all of our campuses.

Table Tennis will be being played at Milton Road and Sighthill campuses, while out at Midlothian, we have our new Football Table.

Meanwhile at Granton, our Tennis Scotland ambassador will be running a Touch Tennis event in the sports hall.

All of these events will run between 12-2PM.

The days are as follows:

Monday 20th: Midlothian
Tuesday 21st: Milton Road
Wednesday 22nd: Granton
Thursday 23nd: Sighthill

Basketball Training For All

We have basketball open training session for everyone who wishes to be involved.
This is a great chance to learn new skills playing a great sport and meet other people who have similar interests.
Where: Granton Campus, Sports Hall
When: Wednesday 1st November 1:30-3:30pm

 

Try out for the men's Rugby team

We're holding trials on Wednesday 13th September from 2pm to 4pm at the Marine Drive playing fields for those interested in playing for the Edinburgh College men's rugby team. Everyone welcome, but please register in advance so we know how many to expect.

Men's Football trials next week

Next Wednesday afternoon (Wednesday 6th Sept), trials will be held at the new World of Football at Marine Drive for students interested in playing for the Edinburgh College Men's Football team.

As we've already had a huge response from students interested in football during the Welcome Weeks, we're asking that you register in advance to allow us to plan for numbers attending.

Healthier You Month

There is still time to sign up for the Health and Wellbeing Activities Pilot as part of the college’s Healthier You Month, which is now well underway and runs throughout May.  A pilot scheme of six activities  started this week beginning Monday 8 May for six weeks, however it is not too late to get involved.

The activities include: • CV/body conditioning • Yoga/relaxation • Salsa • Ballet • Gym time

DigiInventorsChallenge

The #DigiInventorsChallenge, in association with Andy Murray and the Digital Health & Care Institute, and sponsored by Sopra Steria is on a mission to find smart new ways to help Scotland’s young people keep active, eat well and stay healthy and happy, now and in the future.

We are looking for a team of 4-6 students aged between 14-17 to get involved to develop an idea that will help young people participate in the active management of their health, fitness and well being, using digital technology..
