Shakti is here to help ethnic minority (BME) women, children and young people who are experiencing, or who have experienced, domestic abuse. This charity originally offered support provisions in Edinburgh but have expanded to Fife, Falkirk and Dundee.

LGBT Youth Scotland

Edinburgh Council Bins & Recycling

Home Energy Scotland is a network of local advice centres covering all of Scotland. Their expert advisors offer free, impartial advice on energy saving, keeping warm at home, renewable energy, greener travel, cutting water waste and more. Their mission is to help people in Scotland create warmer homes, reduce their bills and help tackle climate change.

Shelter Scotland

Shelter Scotland is a charity that works to alleviate the distress caused by homelessness and bad housing. They do this by giving advice, information and advocacy to people in housing need, and by campaigning for lasting political change to end the housing crisis for good.

Cruse Bereavement Support Scotland

Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland (CBCS) exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people in Scotland. They seek to help anyone experiencing bereavement to understand their grief and cope with their loss. They work primarily through volunteers, providing free care to bereaved people. 

Hub of Hope

The Hub of Hope is the world’s first of its kind mental health database bringing grassroots and national mental health services together in one place for the first time ever. Using the location of web browser or mobile devices, the cloud-based web application allows anyone, anywhere to find the nearest source of support for any mental health issue, from depression and anxiety to PTSD and suicidal thoughts, as well as providing a ‘talk now’ button connecting users directly to the Samaritans.

Edinburgh Crisis Centre

The Crisis Centre is open 24 hours a day 365 days of the year and provides community based, emotional and practical support at times of crisis. It is a service for people who are aged 16 and over who are using or have used mental health services and are resident in the City of Edinburgh when they are facing a crisis.

Crisis provides direct support for homeless people and influences policy to help end homelessness in Scotland.

Abused Men in Scotland

AMIS supports men across Scotland who have or are experiencing domestic abuse. They do not judge, but they do offer practical information, guidance and casework.

Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre

Students across the Edinburgh College Community who have experienced sexual violence at any time of their life will be offered long-term, trauma-informed, one-to-one support. This support will be offered in blocks of six sessions, with students having access to up to 18 individual sessions if needed.

Any students on the College support waiting list will be given the opportunity to access the normal Rape Crisis services for short-term support while they wait. This is in the form of the Here and Now service for over 18s or the STAR Project for under 18s.

Rock Trust

The Rock Trust works with young people between the ages of 16- 25 who are affected by homelessness.

SAMH (Scotland's Action for Mental Health)

SAMH has been here for Scotland’s mental health for a century. They operate over 70 services in communities across Scotland, providing mental health social care support, addictions and employment services, among others. 

The Chalmers

Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service provides a range of services at the Chalmers Centre in Edinburgh (2A Chalmers Street) and at local clinics across the Lothian area.

Living Rent

Living Rent is Scotland’s tenants’ union. They fight for safe, secure and affordable housing for everyone, with better protections against rent increases, evictions and poor-quality housing.

Healthy Respect

Healthy Respect works to improve young people's sexual health and wellbeing, and supports them to enjoy healthy and respectful relationships. It is aimed at young people aged 13-18 living in Lothian.
