Striving for Sustainability

As a student artist, do I need to think about sustainability? Will it make any difference? Can I afford it?

I’d like to think that the answer to all three questions is “yes”. Everyone needs to think about it no matter what their chosen career, otherwise we’ll have no planet and no resources to live on. Collectively, we can make a difference. And there are ways to do it at little or no cost.

Sustainable Education Week (20th - 24th October)

Edinburgh College and ECSA have joined forces to deliver a very exciting Sustainable Education Week for you all this year!

Mary, your VP Activities, has been pushing for more environmentally focussed activities on campus to make sustainable lifestyle choices more accessible to EC students. 

This time last year, we did a Sustainability Survey and the areas students wanted to see prioritised were: 

Sustainability Week 2024 - Survey Results

In October, we asked students their thoughts on sustainability.

We looked at what sort of things people knew about that the College already does, how well they would rate the College on sustainability, and what they wanted the College the focus on in the future. Over the course of Sustainable Education Week 2024, we spoke to 219 students, and, below, is a slideshow explaining what they told us.
