Who deserves an award for making your time at college great? Well, now you can tell us and have your say,  with the launch of the ECSA-llence awards 2018.

The ECSA-llence awards are what we call ‘Student-Led Teaching Awards’. It's about recognising the staff and Class Reps who work hard to give you and your classmates an amazing learning experience at college. Last year Edinburgh College students submitted 770 nominations for over a 120 staff and 30 Class Reps. What that shows us is just what an incredible place Edinburgh College can be and how much you value the amazing individuals who make getting out of bed on a cold winter morning that little bit easier.

The key bits you need to know:

  • Voting opens Monday 12th March and closes on Friday 27th April and can be submitted by clicking here

  • Any student can nominate as many staff as they want across all 4 categories:

    • Outstanding Lecturer of the Year Award

    • Feedback Award

    • Innovation in the Classroom  Award

    • The Guiding Hand Award

    • Class Rep of the Year Award

  • Nominations will be considered on quality not quantity – tell us how the extra mile your nomination has gone has positively impacted on your learning! The more you can put into your nomination the better their chances.

  • All nominations are reviewed by a student panel who shortlist each category

  • Every person who receives a nomination gets a certificate with a quote from their nomination (everyone deserves that recognition)

  • There will be an award ceremony on the 17th of May, we will be inviting students, Nominees, the final shortlist & external guests to come celebrate and recognise the amazing contribution they all make towards Great L&T

This is the 3rd year we have held the ECSA-llence awards, its something ECSA, staff and students all get a lot out of. On this year’s nomination form, you can see the interviews with winners from last year and see what makes the ECSA-llence awards so special for them (and yes some of them did cry and so did we).
