The ECSA Trustee board consists of the 3 full time officers (President, VP Welfare and VP Activities), 2 Student Trustees and 3 External Trustees. A trustee board is a key part of compliance for an independent charity, registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). The Board of Trustees has ultimate responsibility to OSCR for the running of ECSA.

Job Description
Title: Student Trustee
Overview: The Trustees have the overall responsibility for the affairs of the Students' Association. Student Trustees bring their insight and experience as current students.
Time Commitment: It is expected that Student Trustees attend four quarterly Board meetings plus any sub-committee meetings as agreed
Duration: As a Student Trustee you will serve until the end of next academic term (June 2020).

Responsibilities:
All Trustees have a responsibility to:
participate fully in Board meetings
read Board papers in advance and be prepared to contribute and discuss
ensure the Association is not in breach of any requirements made by Charity Law or internal governing documents
use their particular knowledge, skills and experience to improve the decision making of the Board
take an active part in setting overal targets and strategy for the Association as well as adhering to those targets
be an ambassador for ECSA, speaking well of the Students' Association and promoting ECSA activities and values
Skills and Experience:
ECSA is looking for a Student Trustee with an interest in seeing the Association thrive. The Student Trustee will be fully trained and no previous Trustee experience is necessary.
As a Student Trustee you should be able to:
communicate effectively and appropriately
fully participate in all Board discussions
work with other Trustees
