Welcome new and returning students! I hope you have enjoyed your summer and you're feeling refreshed for a new term ahead.

It’s been a very busy few weeks for us at ECSA - we have been across all four campuses doing registration events. It was so nice to see some familiar faces and of course to meet some new ones. In between all the registration events, there’s also been lots going on behind the scenes planning for our Freshers events happening next week!! We look forward to seeing you all there (if you're in doubt about when they are see below)

Monday: Milton Road 10am-2pm
Tuesday: Sighthill 10am-2pm
Wednesday: Granton 10am-2pm
Thursday: Midlothian 12pm-2pm

Alongside all of this, I’ve been attending other meetings within the college. It really is all go now! I’m doing a presentation for Project Search this morning and then I’m off to the City Chambers this afternoon to visit the Lord Provost to discuss Edinburgh City Vision 2050 Project. Tomorrow, is being spent at Heriot Watt University for the NUS Scotland Gathering. I’m really looking forward to catching up with other full time officers from across Scotland.

There are lots of things coming up and I will soon be launching 'Coffee with Carla': your chance to come meet me and have a chat about all things college! Is there something that you want changed? Have you got feedback about an issue, negative or positive? Come chat to me and get your voice heard!

Do you want to work for ECSA? We are looking for 4 x Low Carbon Travel Assistants to work with us - one at each campus for about 8-10 hours per week that is flexible around your timetable. We pay a living wage which means £9.50 an hour! The job would involve advising students on their travel options, assisting the Go Green team with their project and dealing with student enquiries, but you will be trained on all of the above! Applications close at 12noon on Thursdsy 29th, so get your skates on!

The transition from summer back to studying can be hard so please remember our door is always open!

Enjoy the rest of your first week back and don’t forgot to plan time to relax and wind down!!

Thank you for reading,
