A scholarship which sees one student work alongside College staff to assist the delivery of its STEM Inspiration programme to more than 2,000 school pupils is now open for applications.

The Edinburgh College Development Trust, the independent charity which supports students at the College, has received funding from the David Doig Foundation to run the scholarship for the remainder of the academic year, for a second year running.

The successful student will work with College staff to deliver STEM Inspiration Experience Days for P7, S1 and S2 pupils from Edinburgh, East Lothian and Midlothian schools.

They will help with practical activities and experiments in sessions which may include up to 130 pupils. The STEM project encourages young people to consider careers in engineering.

The successful candidate will be paid £1,900 for a period from December 2019 to June 2020, one day per week (Thursday), paid monthly in arrears, starting on Thursday 6 December (subject to passing a PVG check).

To read more about the role and to apply, read the job description and complete the application form on the Edinburgh College Development Trust Scholarship page. Please ensure applications are submitted by 12pm on Friday 6 December.
