This is my last President's Blog. Wow, even writing these words seems surreal, but what doesn’t seem surreal at the moment, though?

The last few months have been more surreal than any of us could have imagined and certainly not how I expected half of my role as President to go... as I move into my final few days as ECSA President I wanted to write something to sum up my year. It’s been a year filled with surprises, I’ve laughed and I’ve cried! But most importantly I've spent the year doing my very best for the students of Edinburgh College, and I’ve really learnt about myself in the process.

I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in change for both our college, and on a national level through the National Union of Students. It’s been a brilliant experience and I have met so many amazing people who spend their time making higher and further education a better place for students.

I wanted to thank all my ECSA staff team for their hard work and dedication this year. If it wasn’t for all of you and the hard work that goes on behind the scenes the officers wouldn’t be able to make their ideas a reality. Thanks also must go to the Principal, Audrey, and her team who have believed in and supported both myself and ECSA this year working together. I could go on about all the different things that ECSA have worked on this year but instead we have collated our fantastic End of Year Report instead and I'll leave you all with a final message from me....

No matter what life throws at you, you are stronger than you know and you can do anything that you wish to. I’m living proof of that. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Work hard and make your dreams a reality.

Thank you so much for electing me to be your voice this year. I will never forget this experience and it has shaped me in ways I can’t express.

I am extremely confident that Jordan, Rose and Victoria are going to be a fantastic team and I wish them all the very best for the year coming! It is going to be very different from the usual, but I have every faith in them and the ECSA staff team.

So for the very last time.... wash your hands, stay safe, and stay at home!
