Hey! It's your VP Activities here, giving you an update on what I have been working on so far in November.

It’s been a busy month, but your FTO's have worked continuously hard to ensure your voices are heard. We collectively met with the National Union of Students (NUS) UK and Scotland Presidents; Larissa Kennedy and Matt Crilly and discussed a number of important issues such as; accommodation, wellbeing, and course matters. As well as equalities campaigns and sustainability and student support on a local and national level.

Myself, Go Green's Claire Furniss and student activist Skye Marriner got together with the College for the COP26 in Conversation panel event. This was a question-time style talk show, which gave us the opportunity to discuss the ways in which our College is playing its part in tackling the climate emergency. Watch the full recording on the college's Youtube channel!

I have also been focusing on my 3 main objectives which are society accessibility, peer-led student support networks and The ECSA on Tour Campaign. For society accessibility, we will be launching a new improved Societies hub! The hub will be part of an exciting new initiative, aimed at making societies more accessible to all students and more sustainable for students to come. This will include individual society pages, containing information about what the society is/does, scheduled events and more. We will also be recruiting a societies council, if this is something you would be interested in getting involved with, drop me an email.

Finally, ECSA on Tour (engaging beyond class reps) will be hitting the road very soon, so keep an eye out for emails! This will be an opportunity for us Student officers to travel to you, so we can meet face-to-face, have a catch-up and answer questions you may have for us.

We have some great events lined up and it’s going to be a great way to involve as many students as possible, including games, feedback and some great incentives.

If you have any questions for me, don't hesitate to reach out!
