What are the ECSA Elections?

ECSA is here to represent all students at Edinburgh College, which means what we do changes to suit the needs of students. Each year we host an Edinburgh College wide vote to elect 3 Full-Time Officers. These 3 Officers become the leaders of the Students' Association and will spend a year working full-time to represent Edinburgh College students and improve the student experience.

This is a great opportunity to take a stand and make a change for students, but also a chance for a rewarding and flexible job where you can develop transferable skills.

Each of the 3 Full-Time Officers have a remit they work on, but they also have the freedom to come up with projects that they believe would change the student experience. The President focuses on Education, our VP Activities works toward setting up societies and activities for students and VP Welfare works with the college to ensure good student mental health and supports our equalities groups.

The elected officers take office on the 1st of July and will remain in post for the full year, working 35 hours a week at £18,500 per year.

During the nomination period: you come up with the reasons why students should vote for you, you’ll submit your nomination form
During the voting period: you’ll campaign for students to vote for you, they’ll vote for the candidates they want to be elected, then we’ll announce the results
