The recent and ongoing events in Israel and Gaza have been frightful and distressing. At EC Students’ Association, we are not experts on the region and do not imagine to have any answers to the ongoing humanitarian crises.

We wanted to simply take the time to say that we extend our sorrow and support to any of our students and their families who have been impacted by the conflict directly or by witnessing the upsetting scenes playing out in the region.

We also want to make sure that students know that we will continue to work hard to ensure our campuses are safe and all students feel welcome. We know that violence in Israel and Palestine means a higher risk of antisemitism, Islamophobia, anti-Palestinian and anti-Israeli incidents in the UK.

If you experience or witness any incident of hate on our campuses, we encourage you to report it though the College’s reporting system, which can be done online with your personal details, or anonymously, if you prefer. We are working closely with the College to continuously improve the system and deal with any incidents reported as quickly as possible to ensure everyone’s safety. If you have any questions or want to speak to someone directly, then please get in touch with us.

We are extremely proud of our student diversity throughout our campuses. Our diversity is our strength and we want to do everything that we can to ensure that diversity, safety, and community support are at the heart of what we do at this difficult time.
