We have watched in horror at the scenes in Ukraine since the Russian invasion and declare our support for the people of Ukraine. Like many of us, the ECSA Team have been wanting to show their support and do something practical and positive to help the people of Ukraine in these desperate times.

You will have seen various organisations, big and small, put together calls for support and donations to help those Ukrainians most in need, particularly those having to flee their homes and their country in order to survive. We have had several queries from students asking "what can we do to help?" and, so, we are now working with local partners to provide an opportunity to do what we can to help.

What can we do to help?

Opir are a group of ordinary people who felt compelled to do something to support the people of Ukraine and Poland. They are mainly based in Scotland but have a collection point in Southampton. They  have direct experience of getting aid directly to the people in need as some of them sent the first aid convoy into Kosovo in 1999.

Opir have partnered up with MOOL (Massive Outpouring Of Love) who are a registered charity (SCO46366). This combined effort ensures that all monies raised will go through the charity and be accountable in that way. MOOL is a community-led charity, founded in September 2015 as a response to the ongoing refugee crisis. MOOL aims to advance education and to promote the relief of poverty, the advancement of human rights and the promotion of equality and diversity.
