Did you know that a disposable sanitary product contains the equivalent of 4 plastic bags? Monday 11th October is the start of Environmenstrual Week - a week long campaign to call for eco-friendly and healthy period products to be available for everyone! This is a great opportunity to try switching to reusable and plastic free period products and the good news is that you can access them for FREE through College!
If you are on campus, you can collect a free pack of reuseable sanitary pads or a menstrual cup at one of our Swap Shop events or ECSA offices on the following days:
- Sighthill - Monday 11th, Tuesday 12th and Friday 15th
- Granton - Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th
- Milton Road - Monday 11th, Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th
- Midlothian - Wednesday 13th and Friday 15th
If you're studying at home or can't get to campus during the week, you can request for up to 2 products to be delivered to your home address. Just go to the Wellbeing Hub on Moodle and click on the 'Hey Girls Period Product' request form and select the items you would like sent to you.
If you want to find out more about reusable period products, how they work and the pros and cons of each type, join our online Plastic Free Period Q&A!
