Congratulations to our winner!!
Earlier this year, the team here at ECSA decided to run an art competition to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. The brief was:
'What do Edinburgh College Sudents look like to you?'
Submissions closed last week, and we had a great turn out - with some very inspiring and creative pieces, which I will share below. However, there can only be 1 winner and our panel of judges decided that our winner is.....
Jeanne Magloire!!!
Jeanne is currently studying HNC Animation at our Granton Campus! Congrats to Jeanne.... keep your eyes peeled for her piece on the walls of Granton Campus over the coming weeks...
A big thank you to everyone who has taken part - we feel the love and are very happy with the effort from you all!
Below are the shortlisted submissions, and our winner Jeanne's is at the top!
'Self portrait in the busy crowd of the college'
My Jigsaw Opportunity
'Every different piece of the jigsaw represents an idea or an event that I believe is significant for every student in college, especially those who came from abroad. Being from Italy, I wanted to represent the change of life, moving to another country and discovering my true self as a student at Edinburgh College.
From afar is a cacophony of colours, like student life can be: hectic, exciting, and filled with opportunities and new encounters!'Resilience
'There are times in life when life seems to have stopped. Struggling to get through the storms of life is hard, but if one has resilience to keep one's head up and wait for the good times, life shines through the dark clouds again.'
'Inclusion elevates us all'
'My painting represents being an edinburgh college student as all the different colours in my painting represent being included at the college, no matter who the person is I think its so important to include someone.'
