It is that time of the year again when we are coming towards the end of the school year. Before planning your summer break you might consider gathering this year's textbooks and get some money back.
Here are a few ways to make the most of the buyback process
Blackwell's Book Shop is restarting their Second-Hand Buyback on Wednesday, 4th May. That means they will buy back from students any book in reasonable condition that will be useful for next year's students, study skills books, and textbooks. This service is available only in-store, so students are encouraged to email edinburgh@blackwell.co.uk with a list of book titles and ISBNs before coming into the shop so it can be checked if their books are worth anything. This initiative is an excellent way for students to save some money and participate in supporting a sustainable local community.
Blackwell's is the largest academic and specialist bookseller in the UK. They have two stores within Edinburgh, one at Herriot-Watt University, Riccarton Campus and another at South Bridge.
Where else you can sell your books?
- AbeBooks offers a book buyback program where you can sell used textbooks and new and used books, including hardcovers and paperbacks.
- Alibris book buyback, similarly to the rest of the websites, allows for selling books through a simple online process. All you need is an ISBN number to start the process.
- SHRUB Coop Swapshop, based in Edinburgh, will offer in-store value for your books.
- eBay is a great place to sell your books online.
You can also donate your books to our ECSA Swap Shop.
