Edinburgh College set out on their Scottish College Cup title defense on Wednesday afternoon against Moray College, who saw off North East Scotland College in the previous round. They arrived in the capital full of confidence, looking to extend their cup run, however it wasn't long before hearts were broken. Edinburgh produced a very convincing performance on the 3G at Spartans, scoring after 2 minutes, they never looked back, going in at half-time with a 4-1 lead.
Sunday 26th March saw the inaugural Touchtennis Varsity Cup held in Scotland at Stirling University. Touchtennis is an attractive alternative to the mainstream game, the key to touchtennis lies not in manipulating the ball with raw power but rather with deft stroke-play and chess-like manoeuvres. Played on a reduced size court with foam balls and 21 inch kids racquets, its carefully calibrated regulations aim to level the playing field for competitors by fostering long, intense rallies and clever angle play.
